Wendi Deng, Ex-wife of Rupert Murdoch
Chinese-American businesswoman, media mogul, Chinese art collector, and movie producer Wendi Deng was the third wife of CEO and chairman of News Corporation Rupert Murdoch for 14 years from 1999 to 2013. She met her former husband, Murdoch, in 1997, who is 37 years older, while working in SStar TV in Hong Kong, which Murdoch also owns. They eventually tied the knot two years later aboard “Morning Glory,” Murdoch’s yacht.
Deng got a sponsor from an American family for a student visa and earned her master’s degree in Yale School of Management. She made her debut as a producer in the 2011 historical drama film Snow Flower and the Secret Fan, which won the Golden Angel Award at the Chinese American Film Festival. Throughout her career, she has accumulated a total net worth of $100 million, which she probably earned through her career as a producer.
