He was known as the former chairman of Walmart from 1992 to 2015 and coined as the 14th wealthiest person in the world, having a total net worth of $68.1 billion. He graduated in 1966 from the University of Arkansas with a bachelor’s degree in science and business administration.

During his departure from Tulsa in 1978, he had already divorced his first wife, with whom he had three children.
