Mellody Hobson, Wife of George Lucas

American businesswoman Mellody Hobson is the chairwoman of Starbucks Corporation and was the co-CEO and president of Ariel Investments and former chairwoman of DreamWorks Animation. She stepped down after the acquisition of DreamWorks Animation SKG, Inc. by NBCUniversal in August 2016. She became the first American-African woman to become the head of The Economic Club of Chicago.

She made headlines when she married Indiana Jones and Star Wars creator George Lucas in 2013. She is  94th on the list of the World’s 100 Most Powerful Women by Forbes in 2020. It was announced on December 26, 2020, that she would become the chairwoman of Starbucks Corp, making her the first black woman to become chairperson of an S&P 500 company. Apart from all these, Mellody also serves as a board member for a few organizations. As of writing, Hobson has a total net worth of $10 million and a $1 million annual salary.
