Gelila Bekele, ex-girlfriend of Tyler Perry

More often than not, the hobbies we develop have the potential of becoming significant investments in the long run. For Tyler Perry, this was writing, a pastime he used to express his thoughts and feelings. Since then, Tyler has done writing and acting work on stage plays, movies, and TV shows. With that said, a few of these notable projects include Tyler Perry’s House of Payne, The Haves and the Have Nots, the Madea movies, Gone Girl, and Vice.

From 2009 to 2020, Tyler was in a relationship with fellow filmmaker Gelila Bekele. She began her career as a model, having worked for high-profile names like Torry Burch, Anna Sui, and brands including Pantene and Levi’s. Since then, Gelila has also been a vocal activist, most notably for equal opportunities in her home country, Ethiopia. To showcase its culture, she also wrote her very own book, Guzo, which revolves around six Ethiopian tribes.
