Kathleen Gawthrop, Widow of Arnold Palmer

Arnold Palmer was one of Golf’s icons and legends. Palmer was considered one of the sport’s greatest and most charismatic players. One thing about Arnold Palmer is that he always had a lovely lady cheering him on in the crowd. That lovely lady supporting Palmer was his second wife, Kathleen Gawthrop. The lovely couple was married for 12 years until Arnold Palmer’s passing in 2016.

Kathleen was not a regular woman that would piggyback off of Palmer’s fame and fortune. Gawthrop got her bachelor’s degree from the University of Colorado and was an amazing golfer herself. Interestingly, the couple met in a golf course owned by Kathleen’s father-in-law. Things must’ve clicked for both of them instantly as they married each other shortly after. Arnold Palmer and Kathleen Gawthrop both got married in a quiet wedding in Hawaii back in January of 2005. Hats off to the couple for keeping their wedding private and intimate.
